Red light therapy works by acting on the "powerplant" cells in your body called mitochondria. With more energy, other cells can do their work more efficiently, such as repairing skin, boosting new cell growth and enhancing skin rejuvenation. More specifically, certain cells absorb light wavelengths and are stimulated to work.
Blue light therapy is most commonly used to treat sun damage and premalignant or malignant skin cancer growths. It can actually be used to prevent skin cancer and remove both precancerous skin lesions and cancerous skin lesions that haven't spread to other areas of the body (or metastasized).
When yellow light therapy penetrates the skin, it does so at a distance of between 0.5mm and 2mm. Immediately, the light is absorbed by the keratinocytes and melanocytes in the skin. It also comes in contact with the skin's Langerhans and Merkel cells, which are critical to the skin's ability to maintain its epidermidis.
Near Infrared light therapy works just like normal RED LED light therapy works. Visible red and invisible near infrared energy are absorbed by photoreceptors in each cell. When the light is absorbed, the light energy is able to trigger a series of metabolic events that are able to stimulate the bod's natural processes on a cellular level.
